The Lord's Teaching
When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, as John the Baptizer had taught his disciples, the Lord gave them a wonderful model (Luke 11). This section walks through that teaching on prayer, one portion at a time. "Our Father" looks at the opening words and what it means to come to the Father of all, remembering His other children as we pray. "The One in the Heavens" shows that, for those who have believed in Christ, our Father is in the heavens, not the earthly father who bore us. "Set Apart Your Name" explains that only Yahweh can set apart His Name in us, by enabling us to live in a way that fits calling Him Father. Prayer is not a formula, but this model shows us the heart of how to talk with God. Whether prayer feels natural to you or difficult, these studies can help you draw near to Him with confidence.
